Materials

We name what we use, because the cloth is the point.

Wool gabardine is woven by Quarona in Italy, a dense and dry weave that holds a line. Cashmere comes from Cariaggi, also in Italy, double-faced and brushed. Cotton is long-staple, garment-dyed so the colour sits in the fibre and stays even through wash and wear.

For leather we work in box-calf, vegetable-tanned and hand-burnished, and in vachetta, left close to natural so it warms to a patina with use. Hardware is satin nickel, never bright, chosen to age in step with the piece.

We choose fewer mills and stay with them. The hand of the cloth should answer for the price before any label does.
